Sony BDP-S5000ES Blu-ray Disc Player Review

I have my BDP-S5000ES yesterday. I had enjoyed with the original Sony BDP-S1 in our home theater, and its quality of picture and sound for the last 2 years. I've listened to other Blu-ray has, like the Pioneer Elite series, but never really seen or heard any clear cut reason to spend $ $ $ $ to upgrade – until now.

The BDP-S5000ES is a great improvement in both picture and sound quality of any of the units I tried.

First, the image. Stunningis the only way to describe it. Shows the Blu-ray with a 1080p projector on a 120 "screen. If there are problems with the image in terms of hue, saturation and clarity, as we see with the big picture, that. He is impeccable. a few scenes that I could have a much better game against a deeper and more intense than my previous player. In short, it seems as good as the film in my eyes.

The sound is equally impressive. So far Ibeen with the audio processor in my pre Krell to 5.1 and 7.1 soundtracks, with results that were well beyond decoding the analog output of my older players. This should be considered an important reason for Sony, if you make a purchase. As I said earlier, I have the original Sony Blu-Ray and after 2 1 / 2 years, are still improvements to the software that all the problems with the BD later can work together. I upgraded this machine for at least 7 times (from v1.1 to v4.2), all for free, and each time the machine is faster and workbetter. Also, I saw a previous review about the load times and thought I'd respond. There is a setting in the Setup menu, the boot time and load from a hard dramatically leaving the car in a sort of standby mode. I have no time, but I would saythe few discs that I tried to play, yet uploaded less than 10 seconds in this mode is activated. The downside is that the device uses more power to do so, because the fan and the processor, even when the power switch is off hold. My guess is that the previous reviewer does not have this feature (the default setting for this feature "off").

This player is the promise of Blu-ray delivered completely. As before, the video is spectacular. Audio codec is spectacular, as in all good. DTS Master Audio (not included in previous Sony products with the exception of the PS3) and Dolby HD are fantastic. Internal decoding and provides full-bandwidth PCM 7.1 is a great benefit to us all that equipment audiophiles who do not have the internal decoders for the new formats are. This also ensures that users of version 1.1 HDMI devices, provided with 1.3non-compliant equipment, the benefits of a full 7.1 surround uncompressed. Works great with my 1069 pre Rotel via HDMI. But best of all, the player is finally fast. For those of previous-generation recorder, the annoying thing about the technology tests the patience of the load times have been organized. That was the bad old days, welcome to the good day to go and plop in the disc. In my role in the charge to possession, even with fast loading, there is at least twicefast (if not faster) than my BDPS2000ES later. The menus and additional features seamlessly and immediately is no longer "processing time" hastle. The production quality is impressive, the player feels like a ton of bricks from the integrated operation and totally silent, the fan noise (at least I never heard of). InternetThe connection is very good, just plug in and drive. In fact, this player is essentially zero negative from the standpoint of performance, NO. Not a particularly interesting piece of material, only a box with a tray in front, but that's OK. That naturally leads to the only negative, for a price. For those who want the best equipment videophile, the price is justified because the service is, for time is second in all parameters, even better, it showsthat the technology is finally paying off. This player is the first indication that the bluray is now a mature technology, without compromising performance or functional requirements. I hope that all of its functional benefits trickle down to the players more accessible soon. BTW, someone who the player is dismissed as a cheaper alternative to a PS3, not yet used, or at least not with tools that are clearly significant differences in audio and video will be used to show performance. Sony BDP-s500es good player, but sony reader false advertising does not load, 6 seconds into the film, as said Sony. Charging time is the same as Play Station 3 and BDP-S350. Your bid is better PS3 or S350. Add another sony false. Sony does not stop addvertisment false to consumers.
